About Paula Stephens

Hi, I’m Paula Stephens. I create vibrant, grungy pieces grounded in my love of the outdoors. As a Colorado native, raised on a wine country fruit farm, I spent my summers working and watching as rows and rows of peach, pear, and apple trees went from fragrant spring blossoms to ripe, juicy fruit of summer and fall.

My artwork reflects this deep connection to nature through elements of sophisticated graffiti in fun, colorful compositions. Each piece is a journey through layers of texture and color, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty and rich, earthy tones of my upbringing.

I use words of inspiration, quotes, and fun/funky collage as the foundation of all my work, creating a bit of a scavenger hunt for the audience to find the words that resonate with their heart's longing. Before I put down the layer of collage, I handwrite a blessing of loving kindness on the canvas to infuse each piece with love, resilience, hope and connection.
