About Paula Stephens
Mixed Media Artist, Colorado.
Hey, I’m Paula. I make cards and art that make people feel joy (for both sending and receiving a card!), remembered, and connected.
The spark for this work came while I was a hospital chaplain. One of my patients had spent over 40 years incarcerated, most of it in solitary confinement. What gave him hope wasn’t freedom — it was the handwritten letters he received from friends and family, proof he wasn’t forgotten. When he told me this, I understood how powerful a simple letter can be to cut through loneliness, carry light an help us feel connected in the hardest of times. That moment has stayed with me ever since.
Now I create colorful cards, quote blocks, and small art pieces that carry that same kind of love. Some are soulful, some are playful, all are meant to brighten your day and make it easier for you to brighten someone else’s.
From my Colorado studio (and peach-orchard roots), everything I make is about simple, human connection. A note in the mail. A little art on the wall. A reminder that we’re in this life together.
Send the card - Share some love - Stay connected!
In Kindness,
Paula
